Damon and Naomi are Damon Krukowski and Naomi Yang. And as the official website states....

"Once upon a time (1987-1991) Damon & Naomi played in a band called Galaxie 500. They made three albums: Today (1988), On Fire (1989), andThis Is Our Music (1990)."

Bit like saying Lou Reed and John Cale played in a band called the Velvet Underground! Galaxie 500 are now cited by all sorts as an influence, tho at the time they were terribly overlooked and undervalued.
Galaxie 500 imploded/exploded around 1990/1 and Damon and Naomi, after some hesitation began life as a duo. The latest cd "The Earth Is Blue" is a lovely collection of breathy vocals and shimmering guitars, its perfect summer music as the temperature soars here in the UK.
