The Broken Family Band inhabit a dark and scary space between alt-country and indie and on this their latest release completely fulfill the potential shown on earlier eps and albums.
A black humour pervades these songs of failed and failing relationships, "we can fuck each other over just for fun," indeed!
The lyrics are wrapped up in gorgeous tunes and instrumentation, with guitars , guitars, guitars (and sometimes a banjo). They should be huge, they shouldn't have to work 9-5!

I've been a fan of these since they started playing in small venues in Cambridge. It's great to see them make it to Glastonbury now, even though it means they rarely play here any more.
Love the Jagger type twang on The Perfect Gentleman, plus the guitar work. Lovely.
